Step - by - Step Guide to 3DHive Portal

1. PORTAL OVERVIEW

The 3DHive Portal allows scheduling a Game built on the Esoteric Editor. Its user-friendly interface is very simple to use and with a few clicks, the Game can be uploaded and bookings can be made.

2. LOGGING IN

The Logging in process is very straight forward and simple to use. Just go to the following URL:  http://www.esotericworlds.com and select the Teacher radio button. Enter the School ID, User ID and Password provided at this stage, e.g.: (School ID: pws, User ID: pwteacher, Password: Playware). The screen shot below shows the Portal main page:

3. GAME SCHEDULING

After Logging in to the Portal, the default page is the Game Scheduling page. It’s a page that also shows the Credits Balance along with two tabs to do Slot Booking and Manage Bookings. There is also a link below the Credits balance to view Game Results.

The page above shows Playware Teacher1 as the authenticated user with a Credit Balance of 58 units.

The following activities can be performed on the Game Scheduling page:

3.1. Reserving a Slot

To reserve a Slot for playing a game simply enter Date, Start Time, Slot [1 unit = 30 minutes] and choose a relevant Class. Click on Reserve Slot button when done.

If there is no Slot available or it has been reserved previously, an error message showing no Slot available is shown.

Upon availability of a Slot, the following page appears:

3.2. Uploading a Lesson

Uploading a Game file is a simple process where you just need to browse to the location of the exported zip file and select the zip file. After selecting the desired Game file, click on Upload to attach the Game file. Ensure that the exported zip file is the most updated one you need to upload.

After the zip file has been attached, as shown above click on Confirm to transfer the zip file to Game and Media Server. Upon successful transfer, a dialog box confirming transfer is displayed and a Booking number is given, which is the password for connecting to the game when prompted by the Esoteric Client.

3.3. Manage Bookings

To manage your existing reservations, click on Manage Bookings tab in the Slot Booking page. Manage Bookings tab allows to update a Slot to a different time and also update a Lesson to a different zip file. There is also an option to delete existing bookings by selecting the desired booking no. from the drop down list.

3.4. Game Results

Game results are shown by clicking the View Game Results option in the Slot Bookings page. Game results show the following: Game Team chat logs, Game chat logs, Game Information Access, Game QA Reward, MCQ Reward and Game Timesheet.
