Episodic Games in Esoteric

When we think of the word “Episode”, television is the natural thought from the word. Though, episodes have been around on the television for a quite a long time now, ever since the early television days, the concept can be applied to Games today as well. Episodic games would typically offer anywhere from half-hour to an hour of game play per game episode.

The reason Esoteric Editor makes it so easy to make the Episodic games is because it offers a wide variety of 3D Worlds along with their unique Objects to design a game episode as desired. Episodic games can come in different flavours as well, such as the mystery games or the typical role-playing ones (RPGs). The levels can be designed in such a way that they can build on the previous one or offer a new challenge as the Game progresses.

We have developed Games in the Esoteric Editor with multiple layers. For instance, we developed a game in which the first layer debuts a different objective than the other layers. The first layer objective could be to find matching costumes or pick up specific items while the remaining levels can bring about typical game play, such as fighting with different enemies and teams while collaborating with the same team members to achieve a common objective.

The tutorials on our blog here list all the steps required to get one started. The rest is the story and theme of the Game. Never before, has making games in 3D been this simple and easy, since all is needed is a few clicks to see the story in action.
